Coordinator of Financial Aid
Piedmont Virginia Community College

Responsibilities:  The Coordinator of Financial Aid will manage a comprehensive financial aid program composed of state and federal aid programs and college foundation scholarships; secure and deliver funds to students; ensure compliance with all federal and state policies; adapt internal and external financial aid programs to expand the college mission, convey financial aid services to current and prospective students; supervise financial aid staff; and oversee the daily operation of the financial aid office.  The Coordinator has ultimate responsibility to assist students in determining financial aid eligibility, increase student participation in financial aid programs, and verifying and awarding financial aid.  The Coordinator reports to the Director of Student Support Services and is a vital member of the student services team.

Required Qualifications:  Bachelor degree; at least three years recent experience with progressive supervisory responsibility in college financial aid operations; proven knowledge of federal and state financial aid policies/programs; demonstrated proficiency in financial aid database systems; excellent oral and written communications and a proven record of student-centered service.  Must be a creative strategic planner who views financial aid as a key element in student recruitment and retention, and a dynamic leader who independently takes initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:  Master's degree; knowledge and proficiency in PeopleSoft or similar software system; experience in community college financial aid setting; knowledge of Virginia Community College System financial aid programs.

Employment Date:  Employment will begin March 1, 2003.

Salary and Benefits:  $45,000 to $55,000; salary based on qualifications and experience.

Financial Aid Director

Harrison Career Institute, with 13 schools in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware has an immediate openings for Financial Aid Directors with a minimum of 3-5 years of financial aid supervisory experience with demonstrated experience in general financial aid operations.  Experience with EDExpress, Direct Loans and EDConnect helpful, but not required.  Competitive salary and benefits for the right person.  Bachelor's degree not required, but is recommended.  EOE.

Associate Director of Financial Aid

East Carolina University seeks an Associate Director of Student Financial Aid beginning no later than May 1, 2003.  The Associate Director functions as the "deputy director" of the student financial aid office and oversees daily operations.  In addition to supervising professional and support staff, the associate director is

responsible for the integration of automated systems that support the awarding and distribution of financial aid funds.  East Carolina University's student financial aid operation is approximately $100 million annually.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be well versed in all aspects of financial aid program administration, and have experience implementing automated financial aid management systems.  A master's degree is required, along with at least 5 years of progressive financial aid responsibility.

Client Support Services Coordinator 
Regent University,
Central Financial Aid

Will support the Central Financial Aid Office and students by managing daily technology-related functions, including electronic reporting to government agencies and other external organizations on a routine basis, as well as serving as data and award entry specialist.  Additionally, will collaborate in assisting with student and other customer contacts during peak periods and/or absence of other assigned staff.  Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in administration, communication, business or information technology.  Must have at least one year of regular use of standard office environment software and hardware (e.g. Microsoft Office products, PC and modem set-up and use, etc.) experience.  Must have demonstrated experience in developing web pages, and the ability to easily learn new software applications and technology.  Experience with Front Page web software preferred.  Previous experience in federal financial aid also preferred.  Click here for more information on application procedures.


Director of Financial Aid

The Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD) - a creative partnership of Pratt Institute and the Corcoran College of Art and Design -is the first professional art and design school in the State of Delaware. Founded in 1997, DCAD currently enrolls over 150 full-time students in a two-year curriculum awarding the Associate of Fine Arts Degree. Over 90% of DCAD graduates continue their education at Pratt, the Corcoran and other distinguished art and design schools nationwide. Approximately 90% of DCAD students receive some form of financial aid.

Reporting to the Director/Dean, the Director of Financial Aid performs all financial aid generalist tasks, while managing and coordinating all aspects of a comprehensive financial assistance program including counseling parents and students, performing needs analysis, packaging, verification, and reporting.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of Department of Education regulations, all applicable rules and guidelines, as well as current and pending issues in higher education. Candidates must have three to five years of financial aid experience, an appropriate undergraduate degree, strong interpersonal and communications skills and a working knowledge of database systems including financial aid software. Must be proficient in Word and Excel; knowledge of Access helpful.
