I trust everyone has had a
profitable Summer and is geared upfor a relaxing Holiday Season
ahead.
As the semester has begun, and you are all looking forward to
completing the FISAP and Pell Grant reconciliations for
September 30, it is also time for
us to begin thinking of future leaders for our regional
association, the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid
Administrators (SASFAA). As VASFAA's representative on the
SASFAA Nominations and Elections Committee this year, I am
forwarding to you as a reminder the e-mail that Ron Day, SASFAA
Past President and Chair of the Nominations and Elections
Committee, sent on August 24 to SASFAA-L subscribers.
Please consider nominating one of our VASFAA colleagues for the
positions listed below. We are fortunate this year, 2004-2005,
in that we have two of our own serving on the elected Board of
SASFAA--Guy Gibbs of NVCC as President-elect, and Zita Barree,
of Edamerica (formerly of VCU) as Vice President. Let's see if
we can keep up the good record of having top people on the
SASFAA ballot for 2005-2006!
Please submit your nominations to me as soon as possible. The
committee will be meeting on October 15-16. Thank you!

Mark your calendars now! The 2005 SASFAA Conference will be held
at the Atlanta Hyatt Regency Hotel (downtown) from February 13 –
16, 2005. Hotel reservation and outline agenda information is
already posted on the SASFAA web site (www.sasfaa.org) in the
Conferences section. Additional information, including a more
detailed agenda and conference registration form, will be posted
to the same site in late October. If you have any questions
