2008-09 Logo Well, here we are in autumn already! Everyone is so busy during the summer months that it seems as if the fall slips up on us out of nowhere. This year we are facing challenges like never before which makes it all the more important to rally together for support, advice and ideas to "make it work". Please take the time to reach out to your colleagues to become active members of VASFAA.

Our president's message in this edition is so timely; thank you President Sheila for reminding us to take that extra step to "Reach for the Stars" as we will all benefit from it. Making that extra commitment to yourself as well as to others will nourish your soul and perhaps provide that little nudge that someone else might need to shine.

Everyone please take a look at the "Your Calendar Guide" section of this newsletter and make a note of the conferences scheduled. This may be one of the most important years in some time to attend every conference that you possibly can for insight into all the changes coming down the pike. These gatherings are for our benefit so we can look to each other for guidance and inspiration so please let our conference committee chairs and members know that we applaud them for the daunting tasks they accomplish.

For our winter edition of The VASFAA Voice, I would really like to see some interesting articles sent in from you that will shed light on issues that are important to our profession. Don't be shy!
