Past President 05-06 Outgoing Message

Submitted by: Brad Barnett, VASFAA Past President

This past year on the VASFAA Board can best be defined as “bitter” and “sweet” for me. The “sweet” was working with the other Board and VASFAA members under the leadership of President Melis to accomplish all that we did this year. I truly enjoyed my role as Past President, Chair of the Awards and Nominations Committee, and Chair of the By-laws Committee.

The “bitter” is knowing this was the last of six years on the VASFAA Executive Board. It is strange knowing that I will not be involved in Board activities the up and coming year as they have become an integral part of my life. However, I know the Board is in good hands for the future.

I want to thank everyone who provided so much support and encouragement to me during my time on the Board. VASFAA is a truly amazing organization and I am very proud to be part of the VASFAA family. Although my time on the Board may be up, my time in serving VASFAA, the members, and our
mission is far from over. I look forward to my role as Chair of the President’s Council for President Kelly in 2007-08, and to whatever else I may be able to do for VASFAA in the future.

Sincerely,
Brad Barnett
