Trek Boldly Into New Frontiers
Captain’s Log – Personal – Final Entry

Greeting fellow VASFAA crew members,

As I sit here and reflect on our voyage over the past year, all I can say is WOW!!

It has been an absolutely amazing trek. We've been
through some pretty tough and scary times but we stuck together, supported each other, and came through it all strong. We also did some terrific things that are worthy of the Starfleet Medal for Galactic Greatness. I highlighted those in my newsletter submissions and at the conferences, and they are accomplishments that everyone should be very proud of, especially those that worked so hard to "make them so".

We finished the year with a wonderful conference and I want to thank again the leaders and members of the Conference, Training, Diversity, Vendor/Sponsor Committees, and all the rest that worked so hard to make it the success it was. I also want to thank all of you that attended and participated.

We also had a very successful transition board meeting at the College of William and Mary at which the 2006-07 board passed the torch to the 2007-08 board.

It has been my absolute honor and privilege to serve as your VASFAA President and as your Captain for our “Trek Boldly into New Frontiers” during this past year. It is an experience that is and will continue to be one of the highlights in my life. I want to thank the members of my board for all their hard work past year. I want to thank my director and my staff back at George Mason for their encouragement and patience during all my office absences. I want to thank my wife for being the best VASFAA First Lady a President could ask for. And, OF COURSE, I want to thank you, the members of VASFAA for your support, for your participation, for your allowing me to serve, and for making VASFAA the best state aid association in the galaxy.

As I transition into my new role as Immediate Past-President, I look forward to continue to work with VASFAA and to work with your new President, Pat Kelly, as we strive to "refresh our spirits and meet the constant of change."
