Nominations and Elections Committee

Submitted by: Brad Barnett, Nominations and Elections Chair, and the Candidates

Beginning May 7th, 2007, online voting will commence. Members will also have an opportunity to vote at the conference in Virginia Beach should you forget to go online beforehand. You will be sent an e-mail with voting instructions around the first of May. The Nominations and Elections committee has put together an excellent slate of candidates for you to make a selection for each office, and is presenting two by-law changes for your consideration. The candidates’ statement of candidacy and pictures are provided for your assistance.

Candidate for Treasurer-Elect

Keith Wellings

Statement of Candidacy
Because it is an honor to have the opportunity to work for the membership of VASFAA, I am humbled to be selected by the Nominations Committee as a candidate for Treasurer.

Serving on the VASFAA Board for three years as representative-at-large in 1999-2000 and again in 2005-2007 has familiarized me with the responsibilities of this position. I have also worked with numerous committees, sometimes as a leader and other times as a follower, always as a team player. Currently I serve on the Budget and Finance and the New Century Committees in the administration of the New Century and the Sue Deaton Ross Endowments.

Membership in VASFAA has provided us all with a great deal of opportunities, experiences, and knowledge. I hope to do whatever I can to repay the organization and help the greater good—I encourage you to do the same. I guess that like our students, I am working off my debt.

I appreciate the opportunity to represent you, my colleagues, as we look to the future together. Our collective knowledge and talents continue to take us to new frontiers.
