Super Saturday

Super Saturday is an annual VASFAA event sponsored by the VASFAA Awareness Committee. The event is hosted at various sites throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to assist college-bound citizens of Virginia in conquering the college financial aid hurdles. This is open to the general public, including parents and students of all grades. Students and parents can arrive at the site anytime during the 10am - 3pm timeframe.

Sites for 2006 are as follows:

  • Albemarle County High School in Charlottesville
  • Bridgewater College in Bridgewater/Harrisonburg area
  • Bryant Adult & Alternative High School in Alexandria
  • Buckingham County High School in Buckingham
  • Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg
  • Eastern Shore Community College in Melfa (date will be February 11 for this site only)
  • Henrico High School in Richmond
  • Hollins University in Roanoke
  • Institute for Advanced Learning & Research in Danville
  • Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown
  • Northern Virginia Community College – sites in Alexandria, Manassas, Springfield, Sterling, and Woodbridge
  • Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin
  • Petersburg High School
  • Regent University in Virginia Beach
  • The College Place in Manassas
  • Tidewater Tech in Norfolk
  • University of Virginia’s College at Wise in Wise
  • Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond
  • Virginia Tech in Blacksburg
  • Warren County High School in Front Royal

As an added bonus, there will be a $100 Book Scholarship drawing awarded at each site.

Each site will provide a financial aid workshop that explains the federal and state financial process, including a PowerPoint presentation and a questions and answer period. In addition, computers will be available staffed with financial aid professionals ready to assist families with completing their 2006-07 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on-line.
