Conference Training

Minutes/Report: DATE: September 24, 2008 - Planning session LOCATION: Via email ATTENDEES: Tamy Garofano, Margaret Murphy GUEST(S): MINUTES STATUS: Submitted The Conference Training Committee Co-chairs, Tamy Garofano and Margaret Murphy, met via email on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Tamy and Margaret met with the Conference Committee at the Hotel Roanoke in June to view the site and scheduled meeting rooms. In addition, a tentative agenda was planned to include a Legislative Update, State and Federal Updates, Sector Meetings, and other topics of equal importance and interest. The conference training committee will be working closely with the diversity committee to secure a general speaker during the conference. Margaret and Tamy are working to add more members to the committee and will be coordinating a teleconference meeting within the next two to three weeks. Margaret provided an update to be posted in the upcoming VASFAA newsletter seeking volunteers and topics for training at conference. Tamy has requested that Greg Martin pencil VASFAA in on his calendar for the conference; however, they have to get back with Greg in late December or early January to confirm topics (other than the federal update) and participation.
