Site Selection

Minutes/Report: DATE: August 14, 2006 - Site Selection LOCATION: Williamsburg VA ATTENDEES: GUEST(S): MINUTES STATUS: Sites are being considered and reviewed for possible conference activites during Spring 2008. Areas considered are Virginia Beach, Newport News, Richmond, Williamsburg, Chesapeake, Charlottesville, Wytheville, and Roanoke. During July, Biz Daniels and I met over lunch to review a web listing of possible sites. Attention is being given to those areas that offer adequate room and activities to host the membership. On August 8, Karen Koonce and I discussed the new Mariott hotel located in Newport News. The site is offering a brand new hotel with conference facilities in an exciting area of the state. Also, on August 10, Anita Aymer offered information regarding the southwest area of Virginia, specifically in Roanoke and Wytheville. Further discussion regarding location of the Spring 2008 conference will occur during the scheduled 8/16 Board conference call.
