Standard Goal 1:

Research the feasibility of the Virginia colleges establishing the same FAFSA priority filing date.  The purpose of achieving this goal is to simplify the aid process for Virginia applicants by removing the confusing of multiple FAFSA priority filing dates. This will help to ensure more students apply on-time and receive the maximum financial aid package they are entitled to receive.

Objective 1:

See if a common FAFSA priority filing date can be agreed upon via all colleges and universities across the state who participate in the federal and state aid programs through a survey and discussion process.

Gather disbursed volume statistics on loans and grants volume at Virginia institutions.  The purpose of this is to provide a database to illustrate the impact of financial aid in the Commonwealth as well as for use in governmental and public relations.

Determine what data might be available and usable from SCHEV in order to meet this goal.
