We met to cover many details relating to our Oct. 16-17 combined
workshops. Customer Service and New Aid will be 9-5 on the first
day, with Experienced Aid noon-noon on the two days. All attendees
will eat together for lunch, with breakfast being provided on the
second day for the experienced group. We will have a 5-6 happy hour
in the lounge of the Hospitality House and will provide a fruit and
cheese tray.

We toured the WM University Center, our conference site. Customer
Service will be in the James Room, New Aid Tidewater B, and
Experienced Tidewater A. Registration and break food will be in the
UC lobby. Sponsorship for New Aid will be National Ed and, for
Experienced, Campus Door. Appropriate signs will be made and
acknowlegements provided.

Speakers for the Experienced will be Ed Irish for need analysis
history; Susan McCrackin (College Board)for arguments for and
against more FAFSA elements; Maria Frias (Sallie Mae)on
understanding cultural differences in need analysis; Pat Kelly,
Tammy Currie, and Jen Meier (WM) on using the internet to help
understand families' applications; and Mel Miller and Gizella Jarrell
(UVA) on professional judgment cases.

The estimated total cost is $2,800, with almost all of it coming for
food and beverages. This total includes the lunch for all attendees,
not just the Experienced group.
