Minutes/Report:
DATE: August 9, 2006 - Exp FA Officers
LOCATION: Williamsburg, VA
ATTENDEES: Jen Meier, WM
Deb Harber, MWU
GUEST(S): Brenda Burke, VCU
MINUTES STATUS:

The Committee approved a tentative schedule which begins on Monday,
October 16, at noon and concludes the next day at noon. The
workshop will be held at the Univesity Center at WM, with housing in
the nearby Hospitality House. A contract with $67 per night rooms
has now been signed with the HH. Conference rates will be honored
for three days before and three after the 16-17 dates. There will
be no charge for the UC rooms. We are working on food for breaks
and meals.

The agenda will focus on need analysis. We will have five sessions
covering the hisory of need, a debate on expanding or contracting
the FAFSA, cultural issues to be considered, using the internet for
need analysis, and PJ cases. We have contacted possible presenters.

The conference cost will be $60-70. I am doing a survey of selected
schools to guage their interest.

We will have at the same time a Monday workshop for new aid officers
and, possibly, support staff training as well.

Outstanding issues include Monday night hospitality, food, signage,
ID badges, the status of support staff training, surveying the
membership on need analysis cultural concerns, and the cost.
