Description:
This committee’s function is to increase the awareness of the availability and access that Virginia residents have to higher education through the use of financial aid resources. Activities include the promotion of a Financial Aid Awareness Month, as proclaimed by the Governor, through media resources such as newspaper, television, radio, high school mailings and any other available means.

The Awareness Committee is also responsible for early awareness promotions in the middle and high school levels. Examples include mailings, posters and assistance with high school events. The committee enlists volunteers from all sectors of the VASFAA membership for participation in awareness activities.
